Veeshan Narinesingh holds a B.S. in Physics at CCNY, and earned his Ph.D. in Physics at CUNY Graduate Center/CCNY. Since being discovered by board members of HGS during an invited talk at Columbia University, Veeshan has helped to build and lead the HGS Mentoring Program. He currently serves as our Director of Community Outreach.

Elon Price started NC State University at age 16, where she earned her B.A. in Physics. She then earned her M.S. in Physics from Fisk-Vanderbilt University Bridge Program. She is now a second-year Physics PhD student at Auburn University. Elon became involved with the HGS Mentoring Program through her position as a NSBP student council member.

Tracy Edwards has a B.S. in Physics and is now working towards a Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics. She serves as a student council member focusing on K-12 programming. Through NSBP, she linked up with HGS to help lead the Mentoring Program.

Xavier Lesley is currently in his second year of an Applied Physics M.S. degree. His research area is in astronomy, and he investigates the motion of stars through the Milky Way. Xavier has been teaching labs for three semesters now. He is also a former mentor who has now taken on the responsibility of Mentor Leader!

Bridget Ierace is a third year Ph.D. student in physics. She works on research in astrophysics and studies supermassive black holes in the center of galaxies to understand their structure and variability using computational simulations and models. Originally a HGS mentor, Bridget stepped up to be a Mentor Leader this academic year!

Gabriel Rios received his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt, his master’s in mechanical engineering from City College, and is a first-year Ph.D. student in atmospheric and oceanic sciences at Princeton. During the time between his bachelor’s and master’s, Gabe worked in the aerospace industry as a design engineer.
